Welcome to the last rankings of the 2011-2012 fantasy football season. If you're still reading in the last week of the season, congratulations on making it through a tough and injury riddled NFL season. And hopefully if you're still reading that also means that you are in your league Championship!
As for myself, your very own Fantasy Football Consigliere is the official winner of a 14 team league, with a 47 point victory this past Sunday. So a little self congratulations to me and if any of you wish to congratulate me yourself via an e-mail (send to mattymccall@gmail.com) or via a comment in regards to this post, by all means do so. I'm just kidding of course, I'm sure my ego is big enough as it is already (just ask my wife).
Anyways, last rankings, so sad, I will miss the weekly posts and seeing how many of you actually view them. I will particularly miss my Russian audience. I still don't know why they read but I welcome them nonetheless. And good luck in your championship!!!

Week 16 Rankings
Are you in your championship game this week? Or are you in the semi-finals fighting to make it to the what I like to call "The Ship?" Either way, congratulations are in order to those of you who have made it that far and if you happen to be in playing in a money league, I hope you win. It's always nice to make some free cash for just playing a fantasy sport.
I would also like to apologize to any Johnny Knox owners who happen to read this article and Johnny, if you happen to be a secret follower (yeah, I know he's not, but it would be cool if he was) I apologize to you too. If you read last week's rankings, or maybe it was the week before that, you know that in one of my leagues basically every player on my team has been injured at some point. So one of my injury replacement pickups was Johnny Knox. Had him for one week and then BAM!!!! Johnny gets bent in half and has to have surgery to stabilize his vertebrae. So goes my season in that particular league, to which I'm completely out of the playoffs and playing not to finish dead last and be the guy responsible for brining beer to the draft next year.
So good luck to everyone, particularly those trying to win The Ship!

Week 15 Rankings
So I was sitting at work today on the 13th floor just doing my job as usual. My buddy Marcus on the 12th floor sends me an IM saying that I need to come down to play with Fang. Now you're probably thinking "what the hell is a dog named Fang doing on the 12th floor of a Global Energy Company?!" To that I answer, it wasn't a dog. Fang is actually a 5 foot inflatable helium filled remote control shark.
I know, freakin' awesome that someone came up with a 5 foot inflatable helium filled remote control shark!!!! Amazon was selling it and someone down on the 12th floor bought it. And I was allowed to fly it around the office! I loved ever second of it and it completely made my day. Now my team and I have to come up with some idea to top a 5 foot inflatable remote control shark, which may be impossible.
But honestly, that story has nothing to do with fantasy football, I just wanted to tell you that someone designed a freakin' floating remote control shark blimp. If you decide you want one, I think it cost around $35 and again, it's on Amazon.
As for the fantasy football part of this blog, well, if you're still reading this far into the season either my advice has helped you greatly, to which I say "you're welcome," or you just enjoy reading my weekly posts, to which I say "Thank you." Oh, or you're Russian and you just keep happening to stumble upon my blog because the word Consigliere must be similar to some other word in Russian. Honestly, Google blogs let's you check out your audience on a highlighted map where countries are colored green that access this page. So thank you to my Russian audience!!
Anyways, finally, fantasy football talk. Either you are in the first or second round of your playoffs, so good luck or contuing good luck to you. Keep an eye on the injury report as my buddy faced an opponent this past weekend who had Adrian Peterson on his squad and Peterson was announced he was not going to play at around 12:00. Plenty of time to put someone else in Peterson's place in his lineup, but for some reason he didn't. So he lost the playoff game to my buddy, so congrats to my buddy. But seriously, don't be lazy, watch Fantasy Football Now on ESPN2 at 11:30 on Sunday. They constantly run down through the injuries like once every 10 minutes for an hour and a half. There's where I get all my last minute injury info from.
All right, on to the rankings!!

Week 14 Rankings
So are you in the playoffs? You have another week to try and make it in? Or are you so far out of it, you probably gave up reading my weekly postings and have moved on to spending more time with your husband/wife? Regardless of your scenario (and for those of you out of the playoff chase, I recommend you keep playing. No one likes someone who just gives up and is a rollover) congratulations or good luck on making the playoffs!
I've made the playoffs in one league as the #2 seed and completely got crushed in the other league I'm in (sitting dead last at the moment, but I blame injuries since I lost Andre Johnson for over half the season and he's injured again, Schaub out at the beginning of the playoff chase, Kenny Britt torn ACL back in week 3, Felix Jones high ankle sprain and DeMarco Murray took over, my backup QB Kevin Kolb with Turf toe right at the same time Schaub went down, Willis McGahee with a broken hand one week, and Santana Moss 4 or 5 weeks with a broken hand.). So you can tell that my entire season was just destroyed by injuries, let alone drafting Rashard Mendenhall with my 1st round pick which was pick 10 in a ten team league.
But enough about me and my woes and let's focus on you and what you need to do to win your league. Pick up backups, steal players from other people in the playoffs, and play your studs. All 3 are very important, particularly playing your studs, as people tend to get "cute" in the playoffs and start playing matchups instead of riding the guys that got you to the playoffs in the first place.
So use my rankings to help you win it all and good luck! Any questions or wish to tell me a "Tale of Woe" about your fantasy football season and how you now hate fantasy football, e-mail mattymccall@gmail.com.

Week 13 Rankings
Folks, it's late, at least late for a freshly turned 30 year old man, and it's been a long day and a long week, evne with having Monday off. So I just finished my rankings for the week. I seriously need to quit my real job and do this for a living instead as it is much more fun and I would much rather spend my days talking and writing about fantasy football. Anywho, on to Week 13's Rankings. Oh, and have a question, e-mail mattymccall@gmail.com.

Week 12 Rankings
Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
Back when in my early 20s Thanksgiving Eve was the single greatest party night of the year. I have many memories (or more exactly fuzzy memories) of having a great time. One time, I drank so much that I asked my buddy to punch me in the stomach in order to puke. And like a good friend, he didn't even flinch at the request and made solid contact, followed by some solid projectile vomit (sorry to those of you who are now grossed out, especially family members who read this).
But now I'm 30 and the days of Thanksgiving Eve parties are over, as I have matured (although my wife may disagree with that statement). So instead of partying, what I'm doing instead is posting my week 12 rankings!! So lucky to you who need the rankings, particularly those of you right on the edge of the playoffs.
The RB/WR Flex Ranking is back again this week and hopefully it helped you out last week. I didn't explain the ranking very well if at all last week, but I think it's fairly self explanatory. You're looking at your RB/WR flex position on your roster, you can't decide whether to start Toby Gerhart this week (Adrian Peterson is out) or Eric Decker (playing in an extremely run heavy offense where it's completely possible to run on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down). If you look at the RB/WR Flex Rankings this week you'll see that the answer is Toby Gerhart.
So that's how the RB/WR Flex Rankings work and of course you know how the positional rankings work. Good luck to all still attemptin to make the playoffs!

Week 11 Rankings (with the release of a new RB/WR Flex Ranking)
Week 11 and only a couple of weeks away from the start of the fantasy football playoffs in either week 13 or 14 depending on how your league is set up. That means every move you make counts that much more, even if you're sending at a current 0-10 record. Still picking up players on the waiver wire even though you are way out of the playoff picture is still the way to go, as it can prevent an owner you may not like from making the playoffs.
So my buddy texted me right before the start of the games last Sunday asking me who to start between a WR and a RB. I don't remember the players names or who I told him to start, but it led him to a follow up text suggesting that I a do a WR/RB flex ranking, but that maybe it would be too hard. I tossed it around in my head for a brief moment and thought to myself, self "You already rank the RBs and the WRs, so how hard could it be to take the two lists and combine them?"
Turns out it wasn't that hard at all. Had it done in about 30 minutes during the last part of my day job and actually found it quite fun. So enjoy all the different positional rankings this week as well as the new RB/WR Flex Ranking.
Feel free to let me know what you think about the new ranking or if you have any other questions e-mail The Consigliere at mattymccall@yahoo.com.
